After installing the PIIX4 drivers, the Primary and Secondary Bus Master IDE Controllers in Device Manager are not recognized. In order for the OS to recognize the Primary and Secondary controller, you will need to do the following.

Go to the Control Panel, System and Device Manager. First, select "Hard Disk Controllers," then the "Intel 82371AB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller." Next, click on "Properties" and select the "Resources" tab. In order to de-select, click on "Use Automatic Settings," so the check mark in the box disappears. Finally, click "OK" and reboot your system.
